... isn't a clinical term, a diagnosis or most importantly, another tool of the pathology paradigm. It's an Identity!

Neuro-affirming approach

... acknowledges that all neurotypes (and thus, all people) have unique strengths, interests, and support needs

... is opposed to the deficits-based approach, which aims to "fix" or "cure" any and all impairments

... is respectful towards all individuals, takes into account everyone's perceptions and needs 

... challenges traditional approaches that focus on compliance and instead prioritises empowerment and self-determination!
